usually you unscrew the highest head and the lowest head.
use whatever adapter is necessary (many use a rubber gasket of some sort or make a screw on adaptor for the air hose) to put air in the higher head and blow it out good.

Richard has the answer for systems that are not level. For a level system open the head at the beginning, closest to the valve, and the last one on that branch. Blow from either end until clear.

it goes onto the garden hose connection on some systems.
i know from experience that this is a fitting you have to make yourself.
just to let you know a household compressor wont even come close. unless of course you have a compressor that does a jack hammer
