So this guy was my best friend for over a year. There was 4 of us and we were the best of friends, we talked about everything and had uncountable great laughs. He tried to make a move on me one night, and i brought it out to everyone. Then, we found out that everything that he ever told us was something he had made up. I have completely lost all of my trust for him and we are no longer friends. One of the 4 great friends was the guy i was in love with and it hurt him that our friend, tom, could do this. However, he is friends with him again and skyler and i arent. Tonight the 2 of them, tom and billy, want to come over and talk about everything. Is this a good thing or not? Should we talk to him or just tell him to go away?

I would say that you should give it a try. Have the discussion. You do not have to be close friends with the guy and you do not have to trust him as you used to, but you can still be close to your group of friends without being tight with all of them.

Take care,
Troy

Hear them out and see what they have to say. Maybe there was a reason he was being fake to begin with. You just admitted that the 4 of you had "uncountable great laughs". So why throw it all out because of that. It will take time to rebuild the trust of course, but there was something there that should be worth trying to save if possible. Good friends are very hard to come by. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. Talk first and then decide where you stand.

This is a good thing... and you should talk to him. Sometimes people make mistakes that they regret...it is only fair to let them explain themselves and attempt to make amends. Forgiving and forgetting is cleansing. Life is too short to hold grudges, and contain anger inside. I guarantee you will feel relief after you all talk things out. I bet you will even feel as though the time that past when you weren't talking was a waste of more uncountable great laughs that could have been shared with one another. Friendship is special...rekindle. Good luck to you and your friends!

It's always a good thing to talk about anything when there is a conflict among friends. Don't forget to bring up the fact that you found out he was telling tall tales, and why would he do that?? Bring it all out in the open, and if he still wants to remain friends, then it's up to him...you have nothing to lose

no conflict should go unresolved. however, give each party a fair chance without bias or anger, to give view of problem. Invite a fifth party as a mediator.
