Don't know how old you are, but when I was in my late teens and early 20's, my period never went by the 28 day rule. I went from 23 days to 46 days. My doctor told me that once I have a baby, I would be more regular and it was true. But in the mean time, he put me on the pill to make me regular. My periods were only 3-4 days then.
If you are sexually active, there's a chance you may be pregnant. Either way, go to your doctor and find out for sure. That would be the best thing to do.
Good luck!

I had a period that lasted for two weeks. Then I didn't have a period for four months. And now I'm pregnant. A woman's body is very complex and there are no two bodies that are going to be exactly alike. Everytime I was stressed, freaking out, or anything like that, I would miss my period or have a huge, long, awful, drawn-out period. And it would suck. But my period's been more irregular because I just got off birth control (hence, the pregnancy). So maybe you should see if you could get on b.c. because it would definitely regulate your period.

If you haven't already (and you're sexually active) get a prenancy test.

If you don't think that's the reason, don't worry. I lost my period for about 3 months and then for another 6 months a while after that only a year ago, mostly due to stress and diet change. Losing your period can be due to a great amount of things: exercise, weight loss, stress, diet, medication, etc. If you can't figure it out before you lose it for too long, see your doctor. The longer you go without menstrating, the more damage will be done to your body, especially to your bones.

It could be pregnancy if you are sexually active. However,it could be due to stress, sudden change of environment or you are recovering from sickness, etc. All these can cause irregular periods.
It happened to me before too last year.I went abroad for a business trip and for the first month,i had a light period for like 2-3 days and my "normal" period only came the following month.I was not pregnant so i assume that it is due to the climate change or stress.

You should consult your doctor ... but the same thing happened to me a few years ago. I had my period for only 3 days one month and the next month -- nothing.

Turned out I was pregnant! It is not unusual to have a lighter than usual period three to four weeks after conception.

You must have an irregular period. I have no idea how old you are but i can tell you that when you start your period, they can be irregular. But if you have had your period for some time then it must be stress or if you do a sport they might be the cause or you might be pregnant.

Have you lost weight recently or did you ever take birth control pills?

This is a frequent questions at the Kimkins Diet website. The members lose weight very quickly and if there's stored hormones from birth control pills in your body fat, they flood out and mess up monthly cycles.

If you are not pregnant, or stressing, this sounds like symptoms caused by fibroids. If you can ask any of the women in your family, find out if they have fibroids.

Generally they are harmless. You can even leave them in in most cases unless you want children. Sometimes they grow large enough to give you a little pouch in the front. My aunt had to have hers taken out because they made her look pregnant.

If your sexually active and your last period was rather lighter than usual I would suggest getting a pregnancy test. If you aren't sexually active and pregnancy isen't the issue then I would have to say it's due to stress.

if you eat fruits or like.sour juice or anything like that, that will make it longer and more..icky

heres wat your supossed to do:

dont eat anything like that..like.no fish,no eggs,no tomatoes, and no fruits [ i know it sounds harsh but its true]

and you cant eat any of that for 10 days..starting from the day it starts..
even if your not on it for 10 days u cant eat that stuff for 10 days..

after that u can eat watever you want..

oh and drink tons of watever while your on it..

mine lasts like..for 3-4 days..

Maybe thats why it was so short, and maybe thats why it's so late... Maybe.
