Vintage is usually an old item, or something old duplicated. Retro is a design style using cues from something old yet still incorporating something new into the design.

Vintage is original item from time frame, example, an original 1970's pair of jeans. Retro is a modern age item that is made to look like the original 70's pair of jeans.
