hey i actually wanted to give you an answer to your bf not spending enough time with you, but its been closed. i just graduated from a university and was seeing a girl there at the time and we had the same problems. she was at a different stage in her life and i was at this have fun and enjoy college stage. she would always say " i feel like you rather spend time with them instead of me?" and i would say no not true. i guess i wasn't looking to get real serious because i didn't know what i was looking for in my life at the moment. all i knew was that i was enjoying school and drinking with my friends. do you not like his friends or want to hang out w/ them? my ex had an anxiety problem and could never go hang out w/ my friends, double dates and such. so all we would do is stay in together and just hang out. the relationship wasn't exciting enough on my end of it. she wanted me to put a ring on her finger and spend the rest of my life w/ her and she let me know it every day and always begged to see me, and it actually scared me and pushed me away. i was going through a lot and experiencing alot. maybe this guy is at a different point in his life and if you guys arn't compatible enough won't make it work right now. i always felt like one day she would be exactly what i want but where i was in my life i guess she wasn't. she was the greatest thing to happan to my life, but i had to let her go before we both got really hurt. she moved on to another man, and it hurts alot. i would def do things diff now, but thats life. its hard to say no to someone you love so much, but if you don't start doing that stuff he will take advantage of your love and walk all over you. god i wish my ex set me straight some times. try and get more involved in his life and learn to demand what you want from him

Many stories are relevant to today. Star-crossed lovers like Romeo and Juliet or even insane Kings like Lear can echo our current leaders in the government.
The reason I love older plays is that they can be presented in the context of today's issues.
I had to laugh when some group wanted to do Man of La Mancha with the windmills being oil rigs -- and the writers said 'no way.' At least the director had a good idea!

Because some theatre group or Producer decided to mount a production of play that are timeless in its appeal, wanted to put their own interpretation on a classic or "older play", or wanted to honor a playwright. Theatre would be pretty barren without that numerous Shakespeare, Ibsen, Chekhov, Coward, and classic Greek plays that are continually mounted around the world.

Well, on a more practical note, Shakespeare is now in the public domain, so there are no royalties to pay.

Because they're a classic. Classic stories are the BEST. No matter what comes after, they'll always be the best and most famous ones.

Because it is art and art is timeless. People who appreciate art still enjoy attending such plays.

because they serve the same purpose as they did when written..to entertain and usually teach a lesson. Do you stop listening to music just because youve heard it before? Do you not let other listen because youve heard it before?

Is this a trick question?
If they're still performed, it's because they're good and people still want to see them.
