my compaq laptop just lost its sound i don't no what happened. there might be a problem with the audio what will i do?

Go to the Compaq website, search for the model of your laptop.
They usually have the software/drivers there for free downloading.

i think compaq laptops have backup on the D: drive. check it out

First, one would wonder why they might have been uninstalled in the first place.

There might be a mute button on your laptop's keyboard that disabled the sound.

You might try going to AUDIO PROPERTIES, and making sure your computer sounds are not muted.

Oh, and if you don't know what something does on your computer, DON'T SCREW WITH IT!!!

if your sound card is the AC'97.sound card
you need to download the AC'97.sound card drivers and install them
