Go for a double-reed woodwind

After playing French horn for years, I found the oboe and bassoon weren't too difficult to play. English horn is another double reed you might want to check out. Bassoon requires learning to read in bass clef if you don't know how already, but it's not hard to learn.

I would recommend the clarinet.

clarinet... you could still get a - one time at band camp story from a clarinet..
