There are a lot of people on welfare who simply choose not to work. They are perfectly capable of going out and getting a job, but they prefer to live off of the hard work of others. There are also a lot of people who are living off of their children. They claim SSI for a diagnosis such as ADD, ADHD, ODD, etc. and they receive money for that. In a lost of the cases I know, the money isn't even used for the benefit of the child(ren). People who don't have jobs have large screen tvs - I work 50 hours a week and can't even afford cable because of health insurance costs. The people on welfare get free health care.

Alot of people on welfare are only on it because its easy to get and they are lazy. But to alot of people, it is a big help, especially if you are just starting out with a baby and you don't have much money.

You know what they are just not on WELFARE they are all over and it pisses me off. If these losers want to live off of the system well no problem but somewhere along the way you are going to want to have more and you definitely cannot do it there.

I thought welfare ended in the 80's. They have been requiring those people work, unless they are disabled.

Yes I agree!
But here in Minnesota it's outta control keep having babies counties keep paying. But in 2004 we finally have some reform-LQQK go to school-county pays, get a job & we'll pay daycare & give you food stamps to boot it's about time our state did something. Yes I pay my hard earned taxes to help support laziness. If you are disabled vet that's quite a different story.

There are many people on welfare that are undeserving. Too many recipients abuse the system and our laws aren't tough enough to catch them and make them pay for their offense.

Oh heck yes. I see the giving assitance to people who need it and are trying. But the people who are taking advantage of it and are lazy, then they do not need it.

There are folks with disabilities on welfare & they don't always look disabled.

For the money we have spend in Iraq we could care for all the homeless and downtrodden
