First we fight about slavery, then segregation, then gender, and now sexual orientation? Why can't people look at the phrase 'liberty and justice for all' and simply accept that 'all' means 'all.'

Humans haven't changed much over the centuries. The toys and technology are different, that's all. We're still the same basic-instinct-driven animals we've always been...and people who try to change that are always turned on with savagery by the rest of the pack.

Idealism wins out up to a point, but slavery, racism, gender discrimination, and sexual discrimination are still alive and well among all races and all peoples. Slavery does not exist on nearly the scale it used to, in most countries, so you can look on that as a positive sign if you like, but class/caste distinctions are still of paramount importance to most.

'All' is a great ideal, one to strive for. Other civilizations in other eras have also had democratic notions they succeeded in partially implementing for a time. But the fact that the old conflicts have been recycled so frequently throughout human history proves we return to our basic natures far more readily than we adhere to noble ideals. All evidence to the contrary, somehow, it must be the easy road.

If "liberty and justice for all" does indeed mean "all," then I want for all employers to get justice by the repeal of all out-dated, trite law which ostensibly "protect" the "rights" of "workers," but which are, truly, nothing more than a show of might by the organized labor unions. Beginning with the minimum wage.

I couldn't agree with you more. Very well said!
What also gets me is how people have such a "problem" with the word GOD. There was the time taking the word GOD out of our Pledge of Allegiance was the big issue... which was absurd! GUESS WHAT... our American dollars have the words "In GOD we trust" written on every single one of them. Do you see any of those "anti-God" people have any problem spending the money that has those exact words written on it? That will be the next stupid thing. Live and let live, leave things alone!

That would be the poison of the world at work. We always drag ourselves through the same things over and over. The secret is forgivness of others and most importantly yourself!
