Nope, though I see your point because usually with fame comes wealth, but that's only if you're famous in the entertainment industry.

There's many people who are famous, or should I say infamous? Think Teri Schiavo and Jonbenet Ramsey. They were both 'famous' in a way, in a sense that everyone knew who they were.

There's also wealth without fame, I mean do you know half the names of billionares, besides the usual ones like Bill Gates and Donald Trump?

So no, they aren't the same, though they are usually found together.

The vast majority of rich people are not famous. There are billionaires who are little known outside their own families.

Many famous people are rich, but they don't have to be. Some have become well known in fields that don't pay particularly well. Others have chosen to give away much of the wealth they did have. Finally, there are some who were wealthy, but chose to spend their money foolishly and no longer have it.

You could be rich and living a secluded life in the woods somewhere.

Conversely, you could be famous for murdering someone, and not have a penny to your name.

I'm neither rich, nor famous, so what the heck do I know

I think you miss the point...when you are famous you have to please your audience to stay in that position that's who pays your bills (the fans), when you are rich you may not be famous but you have some source (investments, business etc) that keeps the money coming in at all times.

You missed the point. A lot of famous people aren't rich (eg Mother Theresa) and a lot of rich people aren't famous (you haven't heard of them).

if i go out on a serious killing spree and from one victim to the next i wear the head of my last victim as a hat and manage to make it from new jersey to Nevada, i'm pretty likely to become famous...not so likely to become rich.
likewise if i become rich because of a life-time of hard work and wise investments i might not necessarily become famous, but i could get rich.

You can get rich without getting famous, or get famous without getting rich. There's many people who are businessmen, but they aren't businessmen of popular companies, like say, Microsoft.

Not really. well in most cases yeah.

You can be famous for maybe.. selling a story to the newspapers for having sex with say Wentworth Miller. But it wont make you rich. if that makes sense?!
