It's not only younger men but also older men do the same. You asked why do they do this? I think it's to show off their manly ness, also if the shirt is taken off then you know it's going to be a BIG drawn out fight for which there Will be only one winner. You can take that to the bank!!!!!!

It may be because they want to keep their clothes from being destroyed but more often, I think it's a macho thing. It's the same reason that gorillas beat their chests....it's just body language as a sign of intimidation.

Have any of you guys actually ever been in a fight??? Are you going to take off your pants and shoes too so they dont get dirty?
It's so the other guy does'nt grab it and use it to counter your balance or keep him in to close for cheap jabs and kicks.
