Does anyone no where and when Hepatits B virus was discovered?

Hepatitis B virus was discovered by Baruch Blumberg in 1967. He also developed the blood test that is used to detect the virus, and invented the first hepatitis B vaccine in 1969. He was working at Fox Chase Cancer Center at the time.

He won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his discovery of the hepatitis B virus in 1976.
