In my opinion, you will know when your body is ready. We didn't wait more than 2 weeks, but my boys were delivered vaginally.
I would ask my Dr.; if I was worried about any problems with
the area around my hypothetical c-section. Usually it would have healed in that amount of time.
I think six weeks is used as a guideline. If you don't want to be in this position in another 15 months; don't pass go-do not collect
$200 dollars-talk about birth control with Dr. & do whatcha gotta do.In other words, have a plan regarding your family.
Congrats on the newborn.

you're not supposed to do any kind of strenuous activity until your stitches are gone. if you are still bleeding or hurting, then it's not a good idea. not everyone waits the whole 6 weeks, but it's smart to. the doc checks you at that point to make sure you have healed correctly and completely and normally gives you the ok or not ok... whichever... basically, it depends on you. i waited for 8 weeks after my c-section. the pain was just too much. if you have healed well and the bleeding has stopped and you have no complications i don't see where it would hurt. but if there's any pain, stop, and if you're that unsure, then maybe you should wait til you get your ok from the doc, he's the bast one to ask about that!

I'd think that you especially have to wait the 6 weeks after a c-section since that is major surgery. Tell your husband to keep his pants on for another week and give you a break.

I don't have any experience with C-sections, but I didn't wait the whole 6 weeks after each of my 3 kids. In your case, you should probably talk it over with your Dr. and make sure it's ok. You don't want to hurt yourself, and I am sure your husband don't want to hurt you either.

If you had a C-Section then I would say wait, sweetie, I know that your husband is having a hard time with this(Believe me I know) But, you don't want to hurt yourself.
You are your own person, take care of your self.
Good Luck & Congrats on your new baby!

you really should wait the six weeks. i have had two c sections also . the risks are that you could hurt the stiches inside of your uterus. i know it sucks why not give him oral to hold him over good luck.

You cannot have sex after a c-section,because if she deos it could tear the stiches inside. You would not heal correctly.

As long as you feel up to it, I don't see a problem. Even though you may not have gotten an actual period yet, be sure to use protection just in case.

i think my hubby and i had sex after 5 weeks, but only after asking the doctor first. the only reason they tell you this is to reduce your chance of infection.
