As you get more points, you will be able to answer, and ask, more questions, rate more Best Answers, and vote for more Best Answers.
More participation equals more points, more points equal more participation.
Level 5 is Unlimited Q & Unlimited A. :-))
The Points Rating System is intended to encourage people to give serious, quality Answers, that are really useful and helpful (not idk), to maintain the usefulness of this site.
10 pts for Best Answer is intended to encourage meaningful participation, instead of just a lot of bullshit, and silly answers.
Points are meaningless otherwise.
Hope this helps.

Don't think so much about the points. I don't know about anyone else but I'm here to socialize, lend an ear and try to give a little helpful advice. Sometimes I need advice and have been helped by people here. Other times just to have fun.

If you do it for the points, it is like other games and videogames. You just want to score more than other players.
Of course as many of the participants, you may ignore the points and get a satisfaction in sharing your knowledge, wisdom or ignorance with others.

You not only get to help people by answering a question in a field(s) you are good at, you get to see how well you are doing at it! Do you get that at your job? I get squat as far as recognition at my job, and like to get the e-mail from Yahoo that says I had a best answer. And I still fell good even if I dont get a best since it's a good chance I helped someone. No religion listed, no political partys mentioned, no color, creed, or race. It's like Nike says: "JUST DO IT".

there is no point , u just enjoy" trying" to help other people, even though most r useless questions or people looking for help for their homework, which u should not give them.

hm! now that i think about it, i don't understand the point either. this whole program is for us to socialize, and i guess the more experience (points) we have, the more priviledges (levels) we have.
