Yes, but he's a democrat and a liberal. That gives him free reign to lie and make up ****. He was the worst President this country ever had, he should just go back to his peanut farm and building houses. He may have been at least qualified to clean the site or other mundane jobs.

The tone of your question is ridiculous. Jimmy Carter is a dignified human being, one with a great deal of wisdom & character. Who is he to criticize? Well, he's a citizen of this country, and it's our right to have an opinion - whether that opinion kisses your pompous hiney or not. Secondly, he is a person who has held the office which Dubya now has - thus, he has a far larger grasp on the issues than you could ever hope to have. Finally, one cannot compare the set of circumstances then to the ones we have now. They are two different eras - hell, it's a new millennium - so get over your arrogance, and try to make the world a better place.

Carter-- not very good president. Great man. Too good a man to be president.

So, he was a peanut farmer-- that's not a bad thing. He was a darn good Peanut farmer. Bush was/is a horrible businessman.

Other Good stuff by Carter
- Deregulatred several industries - Airlines, Trucking, oil, and others
- Camp David Accords
- full diplomatic relations with China
- Salt II
- Furthered human rights causes in the world

Yep, he screwed up on Iran hostage stuff an the economy-- oddlly enough, the Dems (like Ted Kennedy) screwed their own prez.

And he got a Nobel Peace price-- Bush will NEVER get one.

Bush is not even in the same league as Carter as decent people go.

Jimmy Carter never did anything to help defeat terrorism. Instead the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan caused the suspension of plans for ratification of the SALT II pact. The seizure as hostages of the U. S. embassy staff in Iran dominated the news during the last 14 months of the administration. The consequences of Iran's holding Americans captive, together with continuing inflation at home, contributed to Carter's defeat in 1980.

Well, he may not be the one who should tell Bush that, but he has a point. Besides have you noticed how parallel their presidencies are? Both had majority party in office and in congress, passed bad legislation, we have had some terrorist /hostage situations in Iraq, problems with kim jong il..maybe he's just trying to be the voice of experience.....
P.S. Carter's heart was in the right place at least.

Well, for one thing, he REALLY was elected president---he didnt have to lie about it. And he didnt have to go beat the crap out of some third world country (i.e. Regan & Grenada) just to show that we could. He was honest, cared about the environment, made his money in peanuts, not thru ownership of a huge corporation. He wasnt sleazy, stupid, or lazy and didnt hang out with thugs. He could speak intelligently. I dont see what Bush is doing to stop terrorism either. His decisions dont seem to be working too well either.

Exactly and he disabled much of the armed forces. One thing you have to say about Clinton is that he respects the current President not to criticize him.

Carter never brought the world to closer nuclear war and managed to piss off every nation America got bored with having a war with. You need to consider that some places are still at war with America because they couldn't finish the job. All show and death but no Go!

He's a Democrat. What do you expect? Carter = Symbolism, Bush = Substance.
