almost done need some more ideas
Write a regular length essay (1,000 words) on the following topic. “More and more, we take for granted that work must be destitute of pleasure. More and more, we assume that if we want to be pleased we must wait until evening, or the weekend, or vacation, or retirement. More and more, our farms and forests resemble our factories and offices, which in turn more and more resemble prisons—why else should we be so eager to escape them? We recognize defeated landscapes by the absence of pleasure from them. We are defeated at work because our work gives us no pleasure.” – Wendell Berry This is what the teacher is asking To what extent do you agree or disagree with the point of view elaborated by Wendell Berry? To what kind of work do you think he is referring? What factors account for boredom and tyranny at the workplace? What is the difference between a job and a vocation? How would you diminish drudgery and manipulation n the workplace

LOL. You need to learn to read between the lines. This is the most difficult thing for students to do. What he means is reality . That in the real world we are in today ,every thing we do is combined with pure pressure. The farmer has to work hard and long hours and in the end effect he does not make much money by living off the farm. He works from morning until dawn and still his day's are no ending. There is the spring where the seeds need to be sowed in the field. Than they need regulary tending to it like watering and pulling out the weed . He does this rigously but has no fun. As he has no time to sit with family and friends. Or go socializing or go enjoy a warm meal. Normally, they eat something on the run not like us to sit down and joy, and relax. Which I think is very sad. Our job's resemble prisons, cause we need to work long and hard hours to earn our living. Needless to say with very little payment. Cause we can't affort adequatley housing, clothing, food , education for our children, the necessities of life on one simple paycheck. Hence, the family life suffers, the children's parenting suffers their education suffers. Often parents are so over worked, tired when they come home they have no strength left to deal with the problems of their children. The job and work situation is as such that employeer's now a day's seek to pure more and more assignments on our desk.Fixation for our Employer's lies in the fact that the outcome of statistical numbers are more important than the quality life of each individual worker. Then prioties ,everything that in retrospect puts pressure up on the employee. He/she working long endless hours, and again miss out on what s going on at their family home. Conclusion, life is a hard journey. Nothing is made simple. Nothing whether the farmer that sows and harvest his fields, nor the working mom and working dads in their offices and various occupations. Nor the children who suffer cause their parents have no time for them. Hence, life is a ***** but still it is worth living. A job is a job and vacation is vacation. That's so simply.
