the BIOS is brought up differently on different computers. Some use escape key, some use the delete key while other use the f2 key...

the easiest way to know is to look on the screen during post as it ought to tell you what key to press to enter Setup or BIOS... most use the delete key

Try F1 or Del key instead. Has absolutely nothing to do with Windows 98. Your BIOS / CMOS is part of the computer, you can still get into it even if no operating system is installed. Very first screen that you see when your computer boots is when you need to hit the button. It often says something like... "Hit DEL to enter setup".

bios setup has nothing to do with windows... you bring it up before windows launches..

the meathod is different for different brands of computers....

but it comes down to pressing a key right after you hear the beep when powering up the computer.
look for something that says press (something) to enter setup.

on most pc's it's the DEL key.. some it's F1, some it's F10, some it's ALT+ENTER at the same time.

if you dont see the message on startup, go to your computer manufactuers website and lookup support on it..

Try hitting F10 or F11. Also, there should be text along the bottom during boot-up that says what to press. (Hit the buttons during the boot-up)
