Seriously, my parents taught me to be a good and honest person - of course I'm not perfect - but I try to be that way most of the time. For some, maybe their teachers teach them "ethics" at a young age in school. My point is: how can companies really expect to "teach" people ethics etc. when they're like 30, 40, 50, or even 60 years old?!!!

Basically you're right. However, the world moves so fast these days that the lines between what is ethical and what isn't can get blurred. If, for instance, the law that relates to your job changes and creates an entirely new situation, you might be happy to attend a seminar which discusses those issues. It does no harm to have a refresher, so long as it isn't some boring speaker reading from a prepared script who doesn't let you ask questions not on The List.

I can't think of any sector of society that needs ethics training more than corporate employees, except maybe the government.

you assume everyone's parents teach there kids how to behave. go to your local Wal-Mart, grocery store, hell anywhere you can see kids, and I think you'll get the answer you're looking for.

i think you'd be surprised at how many parents don't teach their kids to be good, honest people. unfortunately, they are necessary.
