Hold down the "alt" key, then hit the "PrtScn" (print screen) key. Whatever's on the screen will be put into the clipboard as an image. Then open any image editing program (even MS Paint), and choose "Paste" from the Edit menu. Then save it any way you want to.

You can use "Ctrl" then "PrtScn" to get an image of just the currently active window rather than the full screen, also...

Get what ever screen you want to take a shot of and hit the print screen/sysrq at the top right of the keyboard.
Once you have pressed it, open up paint and press ctrl v, and then save it where you want it. if you want to save it as another format, you have to reopen it and save it as a jpg, gif, or tiff, it is saved as a bmp as default

your welcome
