in Beat It, Eddie Van Halen is the man behind the guitar...MJ has had many famous guitarists play with him on his singles over the years, but BEAT IT is definitely Eddie Van Halen...also, Slash did not make it into the music industry until 1988 when the release of Guns N Roses Appetite for Destruction came out...he was unheard of when Beat It was released...Michael liked to play on songs with big celebrities when he was the king of pop...the song Say, Say, Say (Thriller album) was done with Sir Paul MacCartney when MJ and Paul; were friends which is before MJ bought the entire Beatles Catalogue from under Paul's nose...
btw. here is another Beat It fact...in the video, the gang members were actual rival gang members from New York who Michael put into the video to give it a more realistic feel...cheers

Eddie Van Halen played guitar in Beat It. Slash played guitar for a song around 1996, i think it was called "Scream". Slash also played for his concert around 3 years ago.

yes, slash played guitar on beat it. im not sure about his other songs, but i believe cheryl crow used to play for him.
