I graduate high school, am now attending college. and all my friends are now stoners. At dinner last night out of the 11 people there, 10 of them are current stoners. late night outtings till 2am with friends seems lame. i have a ton of homework for college.
I was at the movies and saw this advertisment from the La times which said, "Weekends are made for exploring, adventure."
Carpe Diem means Seize the day, to live each day to the fullest even if it is your last.
Being here in southern california for my entire life seems boring. here in norwalk, cerritos, long beach area it seems like i have done it all. there is no longer anything to do.
How can i seize the day when i have a ton of homework, my friends are boring, and im in a city where nothing happens?
What is the point of life? I've been thinking the answer is to enjoy and experience what we can...but what? The weekend is here...so what do i do?
CARPE DIEM....How?

Ok, I don't know any other way to answer this and not sound stupid. I work as a legal specialist all week. I get home exhausted and drained from the people I absolutely cannot help, for whatever reason. My Carpe Diem has always been about life, whether helping people or taking care of myself. Believe it or not I go on Yahoo Answers as one part of my "sieze the day" I try to take what knowledge I have and pass it on (pay it forward so to speak). You have the weekend and lots of homework, try and balance the two, even if you only take a couple hours off the homework, go to the local store and buy all the comfort stuff you had as a kid. YoYo, your favorite candy. Or best of all, think of someone you have not talked to in awhile and call them. You might be amazed.

Carpe Diem, seize the day!! Meaning simply to grab the day and make the most of it. To grab "life" and make the most of it. Imagine you had only a few days to live. What would you want to accomplish? People faced with a life threatening disease speak often of living each moment. They have come face to face with their own mortality and priorities are set very quickly. It is all what makes you happy and fulfilled. Those actually facing a short life frame might want to just take a very clean, deep breath, be near family and friends, watch the birds play or stand near the ocean. The ads that say weekends are made for exploring are probably trying to sell you something. There are all kinds of ways to explore life. Open your eyes and appreciate all your gifts. A supreme being (I feel) gave us all those senses to make our life more enjoyable. Contemplate on how you would get along without even one of those senses. You might want to reorganize your time so you can get the homework done and still have time to plan for something you will enjoy. Late night outings and coming home late every night will just add more stress to your life. Get your priorities straight and you will be glad later that you did.

You ever take road trips to see the country? You're right near some pretty amazing stuff. Go take a long weekend and drive out to Yosemite or Death Valley or something, or take a week and drive somewhere cool. I took one random road trip in college, and then I liked it so much I went on three more in my last year. It's great because you get to do something unique with your friends, see some cool country side, and maybe help you focus on what's important in life - because what the meaning of life is depends entirely on you, and it sounds like you need to get away from your surfer town (I was there once, it was ok but I would get sick of it too) and clear your head some.

I thik seize the day means we should enjoy our life. You can't have adventures every day of your life but you can do things you enjoy everyday and you can surround yourself with positive people whose company you enjoy, who make you laugh and who you can have fun with. If your friends are losers and stoners and you don't enjoy their company then you know what to do!
Homework shall pass - we all live through it - hopefully you are studying something you enjoy - otherwise just don't. Life is tooshort to read boring books! Find what you love and if you don't know what that is yet then pack up and find out! Good Luck!
