If you mean Indians from India, many came over to work in the cotton mills in the north of England, in places like Blackburn and Burnley. After a while they sent for their families and settled in the cotton mills towns, just after the second world war. The majority of Indians came a few years later,in the early seventies. These were `British` subjects who had been domicile in Uganda, they were made refugees when the then Ugandan President Adi Amin expelled them from his country. Most did not want to go to India so they came in their thousands to England.
On the other hand, if you meant Red Indians, they came with the Wild Bill Hicock Rodeo show,at the end of the 19th century, they did a performance for Queen Victoria and Albert, and toured the country doing shows. He bought his wife along, she is better known as Calamity Jane. As far as I know, these particular Indians , being American subjects, returned to the U.S.A. with the troupe when the tour was finished.

We invaded and conquered India, now it`s their turn. Or.....the UK has many ethnic groupings, a legacy mainly of our days of Empire. They came to UK to "improve their lot", to prosper and escape the poverty of their homeland, and where better than the motherland of the wealthy conquerors.
