a life time
i don't think you can ever really ever get over it
you seem to put it the back of you mind
you seem get put it behind you
and move on aver time
being hurt by some one is never easy
but if you look at your life from the out side looking in
you have leant something from them
something you can turn into a postive
as you now know
how much it hurts
and you will not let your self do this to someone else
but you have to careful not to let some body else in that will only crush you more
it there was a hand book for love it would out sell the bible
myself i have only let three people close enough to touch my heart all three hurt me
and i don't think i could ever get over that
but i know i will find the right person for me one day
one that dose not break my heart i hope
good luck

The better part of 10 years so far... For your first love especially, they will be in your heart for the rest of your life. It won't hurt as bad as time goes on, but there will still be times when you look back and would give anything to be able to turn back the pages of time and be with them again.

I have heard that it takes about 1 month per year you were together. It also depends on the type of relationship and how it broke up. If there were many things left unresolved it can take longer to accept things you don't have answers for.

30 years, and counting. I have met other men, and could have married 7 times (actually engaged twice), but, he was perfect for me, and I for him. If I could have taken my children 1/2 way around the earth to live, I would have married him. But-----life is as it is.

Get over them? It's going on eight years and the feelings still burn. Someone that important always remains, in some form or place, somewhere in your life.

i think it depends on the relationship that was, sometimes you never really get over someone, you just find new ways to cope with the fact that they may be burned in your memory forever
