My niece was found dead 6 years ago and the case has never been solved, where would I go on the web to find out information on this case

Oh, that's awful, I'm sorry!

Do a search for the nearest city, and get the newspaper for that city; then you can look up the archives (past issues) and get all of the stories that were written. That should give you all the names you need, you can then contact the local police officer in charge. At 6 years, it may have gone to cold case, but there should still be someone you can talk to about it.

don't give up hope: a close friend and 3 of her 4 kids were killed in 1978, and they finally caught the guy in the late 90s!

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that :-(
Try your local library for past newspapers. They might also have some kind of record-keeping on their computers.
Have you went to the police station and asked? They should have some information about it.
