we just obtain some old books and they have an musty smell to them. How do we get out

Try opening them and allowing them to air well. Sprinkle talcum powder between the pages, close for a few days then brush the powder out.

Place sheets of newspaper throughout each book. Close them up and stash away for several days. Works equally well in old dressers, desks etc. that have that musty smell. The newspaper absorbs the smell somehow.

Sprinkle some baking soda between the pages. Leave it there for a while, like overnight. Then shake it out and set the books in a dry sunny place. Worked for me!

I read somewhere that several dryer sheets between pages should take care of it. Just leave it in the books for a week or so.

I have heard that if you place them in a room and put Cat Litter all around them, it will soak up the odor Nothing to loose Try it. Not on the pages, you don't want to soil them.Take Tinfoil pans and put them in different places .

Put baby powder on the pages another thing that may work put downey or bounce sheets the same way..

I have placed them out side on a bright sunny day...
Put them in a very dry warm sunny place. Fan them often. Lay them seperately and open often.

put them in a suit case w/ newspapers and close it. wait and see.
