The ignition timing is adjusted by the PCM, and really shouldn't be partied with.
If you alter it, the PCM won't understand it, and it can ause both drivability problems and engine damage if done incorrectly.
In addition, if it is modified from where the SPEC recommends, it may fail its emissions functional and emissions tests.
If it is adjustable, the procedure and spec are both discussed in the VECI label instructions (the label under the hood that declares what engine and emissions equipment is installed).
