Put the following points in your x-y diagram.
(0, 4)
(1,0)
Join these two points with a straight line. That's it.

No two unknown require two Equations.
If you had 4X + Y = 4 and X + Y = 2 you would have a simultaneous linear Equation. Then you could solve it. The way that problem is stated cannot be solved. You may graph that equation with X and Y plots, but you are stating 4X which means four times X and you would have to know at least one of the Unknowns to solve it. Dont't Let them kid you.

It's y=4-4x
Just make it into equation y=mx+b. Subtract 4x on both sides.
In the graph, u should have a graph with line decreasing by 4 for each x...^^

Get the equation into y=form.
y = -4x+4, so now you can make an (x,y) chart and plot the points.
y = -4(-1)+4
y = 8 ,so
when x = -1, y = 8
x = 0, y = 4
x = 1, y = 0
x = 2, y = -4 , so
Plot these points:
( x,y )
(-1,8 )
( 0,4 )
( 1,0 )
(2,-4 )
now you have your graph

the formula for a line is y=mx+b
m is the slope
b is the y intercept
4x+y=4 you must first get the y by itself by subtracting the 4x
y=(-4x)+4 <<< this is your equation for the line
to graph the equation you put a dot on (0,4) which is your y intercept (or b)
slope is rise over run
a line with a positive slope looks like this /
a line with a negative slope looks like this \
-4x = -4/1
the slope of the line is negative
so from the point (0,4) you count down 4 (because the 4 is negative) and to the left 1 space because the 1 is positive

the formula is y=mx+b. so subtract 4x from both sides and you'll have the equation y=-4x+4 u should be able to graph it from here. go to the point (0,4) then go up four over 1 and plot a point and keep going up 4 over to the right 1.

Plug and number value for X solve for Y, then graph it, You will have all X values this way plus when you graph about three points you will see which way the line will go. If you need more help IM me and I'll help you graph it on a chart, Good Luck
