I don't know why it is unless your pet is a pig or a cow or some other livestock, Depending on what country you are in, dog, cat, rat, ants, and a million other things. It is like when you where young and you wanted to do what everyone else was doing and your parents said if they were jumping off a bridge would you do it? If you want to eat another kind of animal, just move to where it is acceptable. Jesus come now is this worth 5 points?

What kind of pet do you have? I know this guy that is in the military and his wife is from Korea. She eats dogs and I am not kidding. I think because of her culture, it is legal for her to breed and harvest her own dogs. Just like it is legal for the Eskimos in Alaska to still do some whaling.
Personally, I wouldn't eat my dog or a whale. Further, I have seen the way they cook cats and dogs in China and that was not pretty.
I try to remain open minded as possible, but I just love dogs and couldn't see eating one. The thought of it makes me sick to my stomach. The Humane Society of America lobbied very hard before congress to insure that dogs and cats can not be used for animal sacrafices or meals. The Humane Society of America is also working to put pressure on other countries that eat dogs and cats.

Some people on farms get attached to the animals, they just realize that the animal is not there merely for their pleasure. It has a purpose, and when it comes time to kill the animal they don't have aproblem with it. My general idea is: you name it, you keep it, and keeping does not mean eating...

what kind of pets, if I had a pet tarantula i would not want to eat it, however the main reason is we give pets names. Start calling pigs cute names, and I'm afraid there will be no bacon butties, likewise cows,sheep, etc.

Pets have names. Farm kids are taught that difference very early.

I think you could probalby get away with eating your pet if you really want to . I think that animals that eat meat taste bad. and most pets eat meat.

Farm animals are specifically raised for food.
Pets are raised to be our pets, companions, children. Nobody eats their children.
