I am totally stressed out this week. I have been having trouble in algebra and math like i'm actually failing it when in my old school i got As. My teacher sucks, he basically just got out of college like 2 years ago. This is his second year as a teacher. I've been getting help in the mornings but it doesn't really help because my damn teacher doesn't explain everything clearly. Today I had a headache and i put my head down on the desk while he teached so when i didn't understand it and asked for help on monday morning, he totally flipped out and started yelling at me and everything. I felt like a dumbass. After the bell rang i ended up running out of the room crying my eyes out. Should I switch out of that class? All my friends are in there and it's the only time i have class with some of them. I have this teacher twice for algebra and math. He sucks at teaching and he sucks at life. What should i do?!

I'd consider switching classes. It sounds like you're trying, and sometimes a different teacher will be able to work with you or just explain things in a different way that you'll be able to make it all click together in your head.

You could try having an honest talk with the teacher you have now, though. They're people too, sometimes they have bad days or misunderstand what other people do.

Good luck!

Tell ur parents about this, and see if he'll ease up on u and help u. If not, switch out. UR friends are gonna be there for u. IF u have a teacher that "gets" u and u understand, and can teach u, with tutoring help as well; u'll get ur homework done faster and get better grades, and u'll have time to hang out with those friends u won't get to see when u switch out of class. There's e-mail, and IM, and phones, and letters, u can keep in touch with ur friends through those means. It's not worth it for u to fail two classes just because that's the only time u get to see ur buddies. The reason I said to get ur folks involved and have a parent teacher meeting, is because since this teacher is fairly new at the game, maybe he/she doesn't relize they're not helping u. But if u can do the work at a satisfactory level when that teacher isn't around, then maybe it's his/her teaching style not suiting u; if that's the case, get a new teacher, reguardless of the social consequences. They'll work themselves out later, but u might not always understand math, and if u stay in that class, u might end up hating math as a result, and that won't be good for ur future.

Buy a copy of Algebra For Dummies, don't be embarrassed it's actually a good book. If that doesn't help then you might need to forget about taking class with your friends and switch to a different teacher.

I can get the whole friend thing. I'm a freshman and I have all these amazing classes with friends I haven't seen in forever, but you really don't go to class to chill. I would love to but you have to think about what's best for you.

Think about it, if you stay and you fail you won't even be able to hang out with your friends anymore because you'll be grounded, right? Think longterm, do what's in your interest.

Definitely switch out, it's worth it for your grade.
If you hate it that much then you'll most likely be happier in another class. Just have your friends spend the night on a weekend or something.

Switch! Its not really healthy for you to be in there! I would hope your friends would understand that switching would help you stay sane and getting good grades! You can see them at lunch too! Don't worry you're gonna be fine!!

sounds to me like he might be failing you in order to spend more time with you! he sounds quite young and probably fancies you a little. doesnt matter if you think he's old and ugly! you cant help who you fall for! do yourself a favour and change classes before its too late...
