I am looking for others interested in finding, collecting identifying original unaltered terrestrial rock material which is parent material of much of the rock we see today.

The Apex Chert is a rock formation in western Australia.
The Acasta gneisses are from northwestern Canada.

well, I have found a couple out in the desert, above joshua tree nat'l monument - back by the mines. Very heavy, and dense. Good luck - there is plenty
