I was thinking about the demographics of who buys certain types of music. Probably one of the more famous groups are the teenie boppers whose taste for bubblegum pop, emo punk, and hip hop are driving the biggest sales in music.

Besides them, how else do music distributors like to think of the different markets?

I think a lot of it is generational. For example, "40-something" people like myself tend to like Country & Classic Rock. These genres also have a big market & account for a lot music sales.
