* Hawaii does not have an official state fish.

But Humuhumukununukuapua'a is their unofficial one

Humuhumukununukuapua'a means "fish with a pig's nose" in Hawaiian.

The Humuhumukununukuapua'a sleeps on its side at night.

humuhumunukunukuapua was the state fish in 1985. But in 1990, it lost it's reign. So Hawaii does not have an OFFICIAL state fish, but the humuhumunukunukuapua is still looked at as the unofficial symbol of Hawaii. This "trigger fish" was to hopefully be reinstated based on a legislature that arose in April of this year.
