Really a sham, isn't it?
I just rec'd my "voters guide" from the California Republican Party telling me to vote against the Dems. who want $18 billion in new taxes, and instead to vote yes for $50billion in bond issues. With interest payments over 30 years, that's going to be $100 billion, so I guess fairies fly out of some body's backside and pays for that????
What I wonder about is that with almost all taxes being a percentage, and thus increasing as inflation kicks in, as earnings increase etc. etc. And with the theory that services are cheaper from larger providers than little outfits, why are taxes always increasing as services rec'd decrease? Can't ba any skimming or waste I'm sure...

Sales tax is charged for every sale of properties because an exchange between owners occur and the consideration was money. The imposition of tax is on the sale which is income on the part of the owner as provided for in the Tax Laws..

Because politicians will tax anything they can. If they could get away with it they would tax our love lives. (Imagine how many J.r High boys would be in trouble for tax-evasion!!!!)
It comes down to the fact that politicians love taxes. They also love to spend OUR money and waste it by the ton. So the more they tax us the more they can waste.

Ya gotta pay sales tax on almost everything you buy. it's another way for the state governments to get money.

Because the tax system is not fair. Eliminating taxes on used items and estates is very fair. Double or triple taxation is tyranny.
