I got that a lot when I was a kid. It was one of two things. Either I had an ear infection, or I was getting new teeth in. If you still have not had your wisdom teeth come through, or removed, or if you still are getting in adult molars, it could be a new tooth.

I found that a warm heating pad helped in both instances. If the pain does not go away in a couple of days, I would go see a doctor to be sure. You don't always need antibiotics to clear infections. Sometimes they go away by themselves (that's why we have immune systems.)

Sounds like you should go to the doctor. I was watching T.V. the other day and a man had some of the same symptoms and it turned out to be something wrong with his heart. The blockage caused an infection in his mouth area.

That kind of pain almost surely comes from a nerve. Ibuprofen will help, but for a true diagnosis, you should be seen by a health professional. It could be TMJ pain. It could also be a heart attack.

Sounds like TMJ, but it is also possible that this is a more serious situation. Please go to a doctor or emergency room right away.
