I like dogs. Cats suck

Dogs are definately better. They don't have to have a litterbox with piss & poop inside the house. They always want to play ball, or hang out with you. Cats seem to only want affection when they want it. There are exceptions, though. My sister's friend has a cat that plays fetch. Still, they say he thinks he's a dog.

I honestly don't know how you can say that cats suck. I'm not a dog person, but I would never say dogs, as an entire species of animal, suck. Cats can be the sweetest, gentlest, cutest companions. They don't bark (therefore not bothering the neighbors), they cover up after themselves in the litter box, and you never have to walk them, which in a cold climate like mine, is a huge benefit.
My cats greet me when I come home with a warm rub and meows (I'm not kidding myself though - I know a lot of it is their desire for me to feed them!). They sit on the couch w/ us in the evening and they sleep on the bed w/ us at night.
I always say that people who don't like cats have never known a sweet one. I guess I've been lucky in my life to never live with one of the cats that make people like you say that they suck. There are certainly many dogs out there that suck, but many more that are awesome. The same is true with cats. I'm definitely much more of a cat person, but I would never diss an entire species based on my own experience with some of the bad eggs out there.

Dogs. Dogs are faithful, loyal and are a real companion, while cats on the other hand will just sit around, meow, come and go as they please, use a sandbox as their toilet, and only return when it suits them for food or what not. Dogs are easy to train and you can interact with them more readily, they know when the've done wrong and where their territory is. Cats will learn a few things, and they will be hard to interact with, with will get easily bored and roam everywhere, not only your yard but your neighbours yards too, they think that the whole neighbourhood is their territory. So obviously dogs are better.

I love both, but I prefer cats. My reasoning is that cats can look after themselves. They are naturally hunters, whereas dogs rely on humans to look after them, at least more than cats do. Cats therefore are far more independent than dogs. This means that when a cat comes and sits on your lap and rolls around on your newspaper, it is giving YOU attention, not the other way around. It has decided that it would rather spend its time with you. Cats also have the cutest tendancies. Like my one cat used to jump inside big vases and just sit there and jump out at opportune moments. And also, even though it can get highly annoying, it is still rather cute the way that a cat will run to where you are sitting and reading the newspaper and sit on the exact paragraph that you were busy reading as though pointedly announcing its arrival! I love dogs too, but cats have such vivid personalities.

which is better for you? I don't know. I like dogs and cats; however, I 'd rather have a cat (or two); you don 't have to take cats out for a walk. I have had cats and they can be so entertaining.

I own both dogs and cats. My dogs are both Shepard's and both cats are Himalayans. I like them all equally and you could say love them. It's nice to have a cat in your lap but not a 120 lbs. Shepard. It's nice to play Frisbee with my Shepard's but the cats don't get fetch,so in closing I must say to thyn each there own.

It's a person decision. Here is what I think of both of these animals.

Dogs- They are loyal, and companionable. They keep you company, and they hve an adorbale face!

Cats- Independent. They enjoy to be more alone, than be loyal. They are sometimes adorable.

1=They suck!
10=They fill all my expetations

Dogs=9
Cats=4

Now, you know why I like dogs rather than cats!

Cats... Dogs are cool, but I love the sound of a cat purring.
