My Haynes manual doesn't show it

this is a trick question right in 96 ford did away with the 5.0 and 5.8 ur truck does not have a 5.8 if it does its not a 97 in 96 the ford modular engines came out so either u have a 4.2, 4.6 or 5.4 these are all overhead cam engines for best vacuum line routing go to chiltons manual at local parts store good luck hope this helps

Unless the vehicle has been in a collision, there is a vacuum routing map under the hood as a part of the Vehicle Emissions Control Information (VECI) label.
If it is missing, the Haynes manual SHOULD have it, unless what you have isn't for the correct year and engine.
If not, you can get what you need at the local library in the REFERENCE section.
If you need it on-line, there aren't any that come no-charge, but that said, you can go here------->
