Jane Goodall is a famous primatologist. She spent many years in the field in the 1960's onward studying chimpanzees, bonobos and the like.

Jane Goodall lived with the chimpanzees in Africa and studied them for many, many years. She even married and had her child while living with them. I have a poster of her on the wall of my office along with John and Yoko, and Ghandi.
