If you're in the UK, pickup a recent copy of MiniMag or MiniWorld, they both have classifieds where you can pickup a good spec used (classic) Mini at a fair price. If you are across the pond in the USA, for example, check online sites such as http://www.minimania.com or http://craigslist.org classified sections, for owner and dealer-posted cars for sale. In the USA, expect to pay about $10,000 for a good quality Mini, or around $5,000 for a good running project car. Any more than that and you are looking at a fully original, concourse-quality restoration or someone trying to rip you off. I've seen a few horribly modified Minis go for over $20,000 to some sucker with loads of cash, so buyer beware! If you need help checking out a Mini you're interested in purchasing, feel free to email me, I can give you some pointers what to look for as well verify the age of the car.

Big Bro is right, the Mini mags are the best place to look. Best car ever, great fun, luv 'em to bits. And I am on about the genuine Mini NOT the ones with a BMW badge!

The BMW dealership is where Mini Coopers are sold in my area. I suggest you look in your yellow pages and see which one sells them around you. There is a waiting list to get one where I live in Arizona, and they start in the high 20's low 30's. I test drove one just for fun, without any intention to purchase it, but I had a good time buzzing about in it.

It depends weather you are talking about a propper mini or one of the imposters made by bm.
These of course are crap. if you want to drive with a mini badge get a real one made by Austin, for a good one of these expect to pay between £1 and £4Grand.

I'm sure you can find them at a car dealer. i have to say though that i have seen two of these cars on the side of the interstate on fire. don't think i'd buy one.
