No I don't want to live in California. People from other countries come here for the opportunity to find a better way of life. A life where they can find work and feed their families, one where medical treatment is available to everyone, a life where they can choose what God they want to worship. They want to have a home with running water and heat and even own a car.
When you leave your all you friends and family relation behind to start a new life. You don't target any specific state you target the place that has opportunity.

I think that people from other countries have this idealized vision of what California is...I have spoken with people from the East Coast and the South and they all have this vision that California is full of beach bums, surfers, and blond girls in bikinis. This is the "hollywood" version of California and to the contrary! California is a hodge podge of nationalities and people of all shapes sizes and races. So yes, to answer your question, the other people from other country might think California is the ideal state to live in....

Not me, I lived there once and hated it. I like being in the greater South Western State. But I was born in California.

No.
I have no desire to move to California. If I had to move, I'd move to another European country or to Australia.
If I was forced to live in the US, I'd choose NYC.
