I am an American muslim and I have a cousin with an immunal supressant genetic disease; he was playing outside when a couple of people came and saw him outside and beat him up and almost killed him(all in the name of patriotism).WHY?
My cousins are in the NYPD and they are devout practicing muslims; on 911 they were right there on ground Zero risking their lives to save others. While they were risking their lives; one of their wives went out to pick up her kids and on her way back from school some men came in a big truck and started teasing her on the road almost causing an accident all in the name of patriotism.WHY??? And stories like this go on and on ,in the hundreds and possibly thousands I personally know of dozens of incidents from friends and family which continues to go on even today. Why???
Hundreds of muslims died that day because the terrorist killed indiscriminatly. We the American muslims fell victim of 9/11 in more ways then one.Someone tell me Why?

The muslim community in America did expressed outraged. The American muslim leaders ,especially here in NY condemned these horrible terrible actions immediatly. But we also felt the backlash immediatly; therefore so many muslims including myself were afraid to leave the house. You wanna hear something funny I was also told that I wasnt welcom to my daughters PTA.The point I wanna make is why are these hate crimes still going on?

Unfortunately, a lot of Americans tend to stereotype people, and if you are in agroup that they see as being a threat to themselves or our country, they take it out on the nearest available person that fits the profile of the bad guys. Some people don't realize that the average Muslim is no more guilty of terrorism than the average US citizen is for the invasion of Iraq.

There is no answer for that kind of action but stupidity. That's not patriotism because patriotism means sticking together, not fighting with one another. I'm sorry for you that it happened, but there's another point here also. maybe a lot of that wouldn't have happened had the reaction of the Muslim community been a bit different. When 9/11 occurred, the American Muslim Comunity was strangely silent. We wanted to hear you join with us in our outrage and, for the most part the American Muslims stayed silent, even though hundreds did die that day. The ones that did speak out made sure that it was understood that they were Muslims first and Americans second. Given that, do you think that those actions may have spurred the neanderthal types to act out against American Muslims? Do you think that the American Muslim Community could have behaved a bit differently? I know that I do.

Fools are confused easily - the people who judge and curse other based on the others appearance - race - religion or creeds is not patriotsm. The behavior you described here by so called patriotis is only a little (less violent = not killing) different then the acts by the Muslim Holy War Patriot - Hatred is wrong no matter what symbol you hide behind. Simply put these acts were responses to rage that all Americans felt (feel) to the perceived enemy.

be happy to question Clyburn's patriotism, yet do no longer you dare question mine. it incredibly is great to understand that some human beings can choose 0.5 of the inhabitants on the strikes/words of one defective guy or woman. will we assume that by way of fact Gulianni is professional-selection that each and every person Republicans are professional-selection? Or that by way of fact Foley is gay that each and every person Republicans are gay? might desire to be superb to stay in a international devoid of colorings of gray. stable information in Iraq is physically powerful information for each individual (different than possibly Clyburn), extremely the troops. i might celebrate if I heard that no US soldier or harmless civilian died in Iraq at present. i may well be happy to pay attention that fifty,000 Iraqis did no longer flee the sectarian violence final month. i might smile if I heard that Bagdad had a sturdy infrastructure, like they did earlier the conflict. Victory is physically powerful information. we'd desire to define what victory ability, inspite of the indisputable fact that, and at what cost...

When my grandparents came to this country they were picked on as being different. They made the effort to adopt American names, learn the language and customs, and worked hard to fit in. All immigrant groups until recently made an effort to fit in and dress like everyone else. That is how they survived.

No, it isn't patriotism, anymore than Islam is a religion that inherantly respects the rights and freedoms of others.;)I don't believe in acting out violently toward those who have not acted against me, but your faiths (as in ALL monotheistic religions) have long standing traditions of teaching violence and oppression.
Monotheists can expect no sympathy from me, save the children of Jewish/xtian and islamic homes who must suffer because of all of you misguided, god adorers!Do keep in mind that if you had cited your race as the only reason why you and your family and friends were persecuted, you would have my every consolation. But Islam is a disease, and the only good thing you can say about it is that it isn't Xtianity-the worse diseased ridden whore of all! So, if you want my sympathy, tell Allah to *** himself and give your praises to the one who deserves it-
SHAITAN!!!

It's the same story in any country, if you are not of that country, then you are open to bigotry and criticism. Very sorry to hear of your plight...but, it probably will never change....
