Getting a civil wedding is not much of a difference here and and in the Philippines. Maybe the family, friends and the atmosphere would only be difference but other than that. There's no much of a difference is you only speak about getting married. But if you want to spend money wisely and spend your honeymoon in the PI, then I would suggest to have it there.

Absolutely get married in the USA. The fiance visa is faster and cheaper than the spousal visa.
Just to clarify something, if you do get married in the Philippines and decided to divorce later in the USA, the divorce is recognized by the Philippine government.

u know getting married anywhere doesnt guarantee u or it wont guarantee u that ur relationship will work.if u want to get married here in the philippines,u should know divorce isnt allowed here.if u got married here and the relationship failed,it will be both hard for u to marry again coz u will be commited to her for life.ive been married in south korea and in US embassy but my husband still want us to have a civil wedding here in the philippines before i go to US as immigrant.if ur thinking of affordability but grand wedding its better here but there's a lot of strings attached that i mention a while ago.actually i dont know if the relationship with my husband will work coz he is not with me right now and also cross culture marriage is hard but it depends on our caring and nurturing the relationship.
