You prefer cream shadows which have a wax base, thus they will melt. There are some new long-wear shadows from revlon, however they are powder. If you'd like you color to stick all day you need a good base (MAC's paint pots are the best I've found so far, urban decay primer potion is good as well), then layer on your cream shadow and follow by a powder in the same color. The powder will help set the cream and prevent moisture from causing it to wear off.

I too have combination skin, and eyeshadows like Covergirl or Rimmel never stay on my eyes. Maybelline in okay, but it does flake a lot. Mac has good eyeshadows, but they are too expensive to buy in different colors. If you just plan on buying one eyeshadow, then I would suggest that you invest and buy a Mac one, in a color you know will use a lot and that really suits you. If you want to buy a lot of eyeshadows, I would suggest Revlon. I have a lot of eyeshadows from their 12 hour colorstay collection. And they do stay on a long time. They have some really good colors and palletes.

Be sure to moisturize, and any eye shadow should last pretty much until you wash it off. Make sure you don't use a heavy moisturizer, or you might break out. Or, consider using a foundation before applying your eyeshadow. it also helps the shadow stick. My favorite brand is CoverGirl.

Hi Kelly! Most of the time, the way makeup looks and stays on has more to do with how you prepare your skin for it. As for your eyes, I have the same problem. I recommend Mary Kay's Eye Primer. If your eye lids also tend to get greasy, I would suggest trying their Oil Mattifier as well. You can check out these products at www.marykay.com/vickileftwich. I would also be more than happy to drop some samples in the mail to you.

Lancome Color Focus & MAC eyeshadows are good. But for them to be exceptionally long-lasting, you can add a cream/ liquid eyeshadow as a base before adding the powdery one, the cream/ liquid eyeshadows help the powders to stay on your eyes.

Bare Minerals will last till you take it off. Revlon Colorstay is ok, but doesn't last as long. Bare Minerals also comes in some smashing colors, and sparkles, glitters, you name it. They have the best color palette around. You can get samples on ebay that last a long long time, for a couple of bucks each. You usually get 1/8th of a teaspoon, and that's enough to last you a month. You don't use much of them, because they're really intense.

Mark has some great eyeshadows. You can also use loose powder on your lids to help the shadows stay on for a longer time period. HTH.

I use Mary Kay Eye Primer. Apply it before you apply your eyeshadow (any kind) and it will stay on for hours!
