i know im overly reacting but its my first time..do i have to be totally naked as in no clothes during pap smear???

yes you get naked except for your socks and a paper gown and it is very uncomfortable even when you have done it one million times it never gets any easier not like it hurts it is just being naked in front of strangers

Just as with any gynecological exams, you should have to put on an examination robe and a nurse should be present with you and the doctor, regardless of the gender of the doctor. The examination robe is just like a hospital robe like you see on TV.
They should do the pap smear while doing the routine exam and it is done with a swab to the cervical wall. It is done with a long q-tip looking swab. It is slightly uncomfortable but nothing that will really hurt for more than a second or two.

They'll let you keep your socks on but yes you will be naked. They do give you a gown to wear though. Flattering as it is. Don't worry, the doctors are always very professional, there is no need to be nervous about it.

Yes. They cover you with a paper top and bottom though. The reason your top is off is because they will check your breasts for lumps. I know its scary and is something that you will never enjoy getting done but relax. Tell your Dr. it is your first one and they will be extra compassionate.

No they give you a gown and stuff, but yeah ur naked most of the time!!!
