The most important thing would be a bed. A sofa, TV, and Microwave should be next on your list. If you are trying to do it on the cheap you can usually find good deals on that stuff in the paper or on www.craigslist.com

Besides all the other great suggestions, please get some good kitchen utensils and pots and pans, and some tupperware. A good knife (not expensive) is a must. Colanders, a mop, vacuum, broom and dustpan. A garbage pail and bags. Cleaners for the countertops and bathroom.
And trust me, you'll find more things you don't have as time goes by. Hit the local paper for yard sales.

A bed and bedding. A table to eat off and some plates and cutlery. Detergent to do your laundry. A vacuum or broom. And don't forget curtains unless you want your neighbours watching everything you do.
