Why are North American currency notes the same size & colour (English spelling not color). Does it not present problems for poorly sighted people? & present a boon for forgers? Does any other country use same size/colour notes?

Is all about the trust of the value of the dollar.
If our currency was suddenly Blue, people would deem as forgery and never accept it. We are stubborn to change on the currency.
As for size, it fits easiest into our wallets, pockets, etc. We might lose it if it is smaller, dollar coins get confusing with our other coins.
If called a "green back" for a reason :) Cause the back of the bills are green.
Since we are ressitant to change, our bills are very suseptible to forgery. Security measures are slowly being introduced into the bills.

American currency has not changed at all for a long time. Recently, small changes have been made, but they continue to
be the same size, and the added color changes have been very subtle.
The last couple of times we tried to add a dollar coin, we failed
miserably. We just are resistant to change. We also never had to deal with currency from other countries, so having a basis of
comparison isn't an issue.

It is so that when your drunk in the cab,bar or restaraunt (or all 3) you will inadvertantly give them a $50 instead of $5 tip.
This scam has the full backing of the Bush administration as it helps this sector of the economy by giving them more disposable income.
When you get over your hangover from the night before,you don't even recall or notice that your $50 down.
