Aston Villa. My father was not that interested in football but deep down I think he favoured Birmingham City (even he could not be perfect). His brother however was a Villa fan and named his son after a former Villa centre forward. I followed Villa during the good and bad times. We were relegated to the old 3rd division. Bad as this was I saw some great games. Of course the highlight was winning the league and the European Cup 1981/2. Having been born in Birmingham any true football fan would support one of the teams in the area. I cannot understand why people born in a certain place support a team from miles away.

Toon! I'm a USAian. Years ago, when I first started getting into EPL, a good friend of mine gave me a rundown on the teams (the poor sod is a Leeds Utd supporter and the pain just doesn't seem to stop for him.) I asked him how I pick, and he said, "You just pick one, and you stick with 'em no matter what." Well, having already been an avid follower of Australian Rules Football, specifically the Collingwood Magpies, and being a fan of the Oakland Raiders in USA football, the black and white of Newcastle, plus their being the Magpies, was a natural choice.
Only wish they were doing better this season. Martins and Sibierski up front for Middlesbrough. The man deserves another shot after his showing against Fenerbache, IMO.
Go Toon!

Everyone has a different reason for supporting a football team. I was hooked from the first time my Grandad took me to see Cardiff City when I was six years old. We lost and I don't think I saw much of the game but I didn't care and just kept going back and I am still drawn to the ground now attending as many games as possible despite living 150 miles away.
Through thick and thin Cardiff City have been the one constant in my life and I have stuck by them through thick and thin. Being in among the crowd at Cardiff for me is like being back in a big family. Come on you Bbbbblllllooooobbbbbiiiirrrrrdddssss!!!!

Chelsea - since about 1969!
Started to support them cos someone told me that the fella I fancied at school at the time liked then so I started to follow them. After a while I discovered that he really followed Leeds so I chucked him but stuck with the Blues during the 1970 cup final when we beat Leeds in a replay. Since then I am a dedicated Chelsea fan .... Eventually married a fellow Chelsea fan!
Trouble is - my sons support Arsenal and Liverpool - where did we go wrong?????
C'mon you Bluessssss

ok i dont know if any one actually looked at the catergory but it did state english football (soccer) teams.
me personally have been supporting manchester united since i was 5 years old.my dad wanted me to support my local team (gillingham fc) but i personally did not like the colour of the shirt.
however as i grew older man utd got more interesting for me as i started to watch , mimic moves and really pay attention to what really was happening on the pitch ironically i played football for my local sunday league team and got trials for gillingham fc!!
i got seriuosly injured before the trials took place and could not play ever again

ASTON VILLA F.C , I've liked them since I was a child growing up just outside Birmingham in the 1970's . They are the only unbeaten team in the Premiership now.

Wolves - Been watching and supporting them since I was 6, I'm now 54, born and bred in Wolverhampton.
You can change your wife, your pub, your clothes, your friends and I now live many miles away from Wolverhampton but I'll never change my team!
