You really need to contact a lawyer on this. Seems like, to me, who ever really wants the car and has the ability to make the payments. Once the decision has been made, then the other party probably has to sign off of all responsibility. LIke I mentioned before, call a lawyer to get the exact rules. Good luck!

if you cannot come to a civilized decision on who would get the car (i would go by who make the payments on it...) then i would suggest selling it and splitting the money in half, get your own car...

from now on, only put things in your name that you want to keep whether it is a boyfriend or husband! (you never know when something like this will happen and you will be glad that you did that!!!) hope all goes well and good luck!

it doesn't matter who keeps the car if you owe money and the person that does keep it does not pay the payment it will go on both your credit reports I was divorced and it stipulated in my decree who got what car but because we both signed a contract with the loan company the only thing I could have done was sue my ex ..

On co-owned sources like the residing house and vehicle , one buys the different out or the products are bought and any providence or debt are split. the vehicle you had before the marriage might want to stay yours. This sources stuff is negotiated

well since your not married you both need to come to a decision ...maybe sell it and split the money or something or you would just have to take it to court

if you go to court then they will make you sell it and split the money. or trade it in for credit on two different vehicles.
