Teddy Kennedy, while driving a car out of his mind on booze and God knows what else, drove his car into a body of water. He left the scene of the accident, leaving his passenger Mary Jo Kopecne to die. If this were anyone else, they would have spent many years in prison and would have been thrown out of the senate. Teddy though, having more money than God, kept his job, continues to be re-elected and got away with murder. Funny how the Dems don't like to talk about this. Mark Foley, even though I condemn his actions and support his being thrown out of office, at least didn't kill anyone.

Two things... Laura Bush never ran for elected office. George Bush never left anyone for dead so he could call his attorney. Teddy is a disgrace to his party and the fine people of the state of Mass.

I like how people play the Laura Bush card whenever this crops up. At least she contacted the police first thing, and took responsibility for it.

Ted Kennedy "OMG, I've had an accident and my girlfriend/mistress is stuck underwater. Quick, someone call my lawyer!"

This is funny. You've got a great sense of humor. TK may have had enough influence via family and finances to get his case handled by a competent attorney, whereas some impoverished kid might have suffered the consequences of an incompetent attorney, but his case was processed by the judicial system we have and that's the end of that.

I'm sure that it's not a proud moment in his life, but it's history. Over and done. He has served his public well enough that he has been reelected term after term. If he wasn't serving the public well, he wouldn't get reelected.

To bring Foley into the equation is ridiculous. I'll bet that you're one of those new age Christians. Did you forget that forgiveness was one of Christ's teachings?

The people of Massachusetts are free to vote for whom they want. Sen. Kennedy has been elected and re-elected by the constituency of that great State. At one point in time he faced the court and charges. Whatever were the findings I don't care to remember because I know that deed won't disappear from his conscience and that my friend, is cruel and unusual punishment for life, why add more aggravation. The people of Massachusetts have spoken. (just kidding)

Because he is in a state where the name mattered more when it happened, and he is now an institution there.

You could ask the same thing about George Bush and cocaine, marijuana, and alcohol abuse. People generally know about this, take it into account, and figure it out.

The obsession on both sides with this kind of thing keeps good people out of government. Everyone was young once, and did some stupid things. This shouldn't keep them from holding office.

Get over it and move on.

Because Ted Kennedy at least tried to do the right thing: He tried to save Mary Jo, and he went back to the party for help. And when his day in court came, he told the truth and he served his time.

Mark Foley, on the other hand, is a deliberate child abuser and his Republican ilk knew about his activities and tried to keep them secret.

If Ted Kennedy belongs in prison, where does Bush belong, in hell?

What I love most about you narrow-minded NeoCons is how you keep living in the past. You whine about Ted Kennedy, you whine about Clinton, you whine about FDR. You've got little to say about what's going on today, but persist in dragging the past into the future. If you want to debate the issues, let's talk about what's happening today! We can't change the past, but we can effect change in the future. Get with the program or button it.

Same reason that Laura Bush ran a stop sign, and killed her ex boyfriend. The more money you have, the more likely you are to get away with murder. That, and the people of Mass, have continued to vote him in, and this is america, where votes are supposed to count. He doesn't represent you, I take it, so why do you care? You think he is the only one in congress with skeletons in his closet?

Mass. voters know that if they keep Teddy in DC he won't be driving on their streets.

Wow, you really did your homework. That's why you realize this incident occurred years before he was elected to the Senate...
Hey, here's a funny idea for a bumper sticker: "Laura Bush's car has killed more people than my gun." Hahaha. Good one, uh?
