because way back when we were teens we though we knew everything and could handle anything.
They think the same way.

Here I go again making people mad! In my opinion it goes back to how much attention they recieve at home! It's a need to fill a void! Parents don't spend enough time with their kids! This is especially the case with girls and their fathers! Girls need a good father figure in their lives to give them love and support! This could also help... I think the first time a young girl starts talking about having a child they should have to be locked in a room with a 3 month old that has a ear infection for a day or two! Then they should have to go into the delivery room to watch someone give birth the old fashioned way with no drugs! I bet that would detour their thoughts for sometime!

I was a young Mom- had my daughter when I was 19 (got pregnant my senior year in high school). To be honest- girls that want to have a baby are either looking for unconditional love from someone or they are looking to try to trap a man into staying with them. I was the girl that thought if I had a baby that I would get unconditional love. I have done a lot of research as well and know that if a father is not close to his daughter she will look for the attention somewhere and that usually means sex with boys. So- hope this helps ya!

It's not necessarily about being young and stupid. I think that having kids young is the best way to do it. You have more energy to play with them. When you get older your energy level declines. Plus, if your children have their children young, you will still be fairly young when you become a grandparent and everyone knows that grandparenting is way more fun than parenting!! People talk about waiting til they are older and financially stable to have kids, but most jobs take longer work hours and your child would rather have you home spending time with them than they would have you at the office making some money to buy them a toy.

They are missing something in their life and think they can be happy if they have a baby. What they need is love and acceptance from their parents, family and friends not a baby but they don't realize that babies take love they don't give it. A puppy would be a better choice. The puppy gives unquestioning love in return for food, water and shelter.

I was a young girl who got pregnant, but because lack of education.
I can tell you I was given to much freedom.
Lack of supervision. And most certainly lack of attention in allo, I had low self esteem, hardly popular, which is important, and it was a good feeling to have that distraction from what life should have been.
I dont understand why so many girls want babies, I can tell you my children will be envolved with activities, supervised visits, and given so much attention there will be no room for error.
also perents need to instill values, and expectations with education!

I can't speak for everyone but one reason could be because they lack love and feel like having a baby will give them someone who loves them.
I wanted a child since I was 14 and the above was my reasoning. Fortunately it didn't happen until I was 19 and that was still too young.

Just a couple of guesses since I really can't phanthom the reason. Being a teenager is lonely and tough. Perhaps they feel that having a baby would be a sure thing...someone who loves them. Perhaps because it is an "adult" thing to do like smoking...Perhaps because they feel (as most teenagers do) that they are really and truly in love with that cute boy teenager, and this is a way to make sure that he doesn't break up with her (surely, girls are that devious). I think probably the first two suggestions I made.

I think they just want so attention, being a new mom myself and I'm an adult it's hard for me. They really need to think about this before they decide that they want a baby. Babies aren't something you can give back when you haven't had enough sleep or when you want to hang out with your friends and they are very expensive.

They think it's really cool, and that they would get loads of attention off people.
They really don't have a clue, they should give them one of those electronic babies for a week and see how they like the sleepless nights x
