Probably not, because then you'd have all kinds of people getting tree-climbing-related injuries, which is not much fun. Also, if it was that abundant of a resource, it would become less and less valuable over time. Like, nobody can buy a tank of gas with apples, right? It would be the same with money after a while. But money trees would look pretty, though...

When Money Grew On Trees

No. There was actually a cartoon show that showed this once, it must have been about 20 years ago when I saw it. I think it was Alvin & the Chipmunks. The smart chipmunk, I think Simon, figured out how to grow money on trees. Everyone had plenty of money and were happy for a while. Then, a few people started collecting bottle caps and everyone started collecting bottle caps. And then the merchants in the small stores wanted bottle caps. So, they started charging customers bottle caps for their purchases. And then everyone was using bottle caps as currency. Certain bottlecaps were favored more than other bottle caps, like the shiny ones were worth more. Bottle caps completely replaced currency. For whatever reason, that story has stuck in my mind. So, money growing on trees will be pointless because we would start using something else as currency.

No, because all the existing money, including what grew on trees, would then be devalued or even worthless. The value of money depends on the supply being made and the assets that exist to back it up.

That's why you only see corrupt governments printing up endless stacks of money. Sound governments would prefer that their currency would RISE in value.

Not really. The rich are some of the most unhappy people on the planet. What you want is just enough money to live comfortably with the life style you enjoy without letting money or worries about money rule your life.

the problems plauge today's societies are only blamed on money. Many people say that if I had money then....I be happy. The problems that most people have is deep rooted in themselves and has little to do with money. We just blame money, look at some "primitive" societies in the rain forests - no money, everyone happy and no murder no crime no needs no wants. so is the solution more money or less money.

Of course not, instead of having inflation, we will have deflation. The value of money will decrease. This will create even a bigger problem in society. For your information, this is the reason why government does not make money (literally) every year.

NO - because I guarantee someone would build a fence around the trees to keep others from getting to them.
